ATS Buffer Adjustment
Brand-level ATS buffer: reduces incoming stock on import based on configurable “AtOnce” and “Future PO” buffers, logs applied amounts, and keeps original values unchanged to prevent double application.
This feature is an ATS (Available-to-Sell) buffer adjustment at the Brand level. It allows you to reduce incoming stock values (ATS) automatically by a configurable amount before importing, without altering the original data permanently. Here's a breakdown:
Purpose
-
To manage inventory conservatively, ensuring that stock levels used in planning or reporting account for reserved stock, safety stock, or other internal buffers.
-
Prevents over-selling by reducing the reported ATS values before they hit the system.
How it works
-
Brand-level toggle:
-
When OFF, imported ATS values are used as-is.
-
When ON, the buffer logic is applied.
-
-
Two buffer fields:
-
AtOnce Buffer → applied to "AtOnce" ATS values.
-
Future PO Buffer → applied to "Future PO" ATS values.
-
Example
Product | Original ATS | Buffer | Imported ATS |
---|---|---|---|
A | 20 | 10 | 10 |
B | 11 | 10 | 1 |
C | 5 | 10 | 0 |
Here, the buffer reduces stock before import. Negative results are floored to zero.
In short: it’s a configurable, safe way to automatically reduce stock numbers at import time without permanently altering the original data.
